How to Disable launching of a software at start up?

Submitted by Tech Talk on June 24, 2009 – 8:44 amNo Comment

Some software, once installed to launch automatically at startup without you. Over time, Windows starts can be strongly felt. To remedy this, you can disable some of these services.

Select Start / Run and type msconfig in the dialog. In the Startup tab you will see the list of programs loaded when Windows starts. It is likely that a number of them are not essential to Windows startup. Uncheck them – if they were really useful, you can always reactivate it later by following the same procedure.

You can also disable some services following the same procedure (in the Services tab).

Restart your computer. You then see a message appear indicating that you operate a “Selective Startup“. If you do not want to see it appear on each new session, click the checkbox at the bottom of the window. You should, in the best case, that the Windows startup is done more quickly.
