How To Remove a program from the dialog “Open With” ?

Submitted by Tech Talk on June 24, 2009 – 8:27 amNo Comment

When you click a file whose type is unknown to Windows, the system shows the list of applications that can be opened. If you want an application to be removed from this window, here’s how:
1. Run Regedit and locate the sub-section HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT / Applications.
2. Find the key corresponding to the program.
3. Then create a string that you call NoOpenWith.
4. Close Regedit and restart the PC.
